About Manor Court Cottages
Set in the heart of the pretty village of Over Haddon, right in the heart of the Peak District National Park, Manor Court Cottages are the perfect base when visiting this popular area. Just two miles out of Bakewell lies this beautiful cluster of recently converted and lovingly restored cottages and barns beside the medieval grade 2* listed Manor House.
The house itself dates from 1553, with the cottage buildings of 19th century origin: built during the days when the farm belonged to Queen Victoria’s prime ministers Lord Melbourne and then Lord Palmerston.
Over Haddon, as well as its beautiful daleside location of Lathkill Dale, is only a 5 minute drive – or a pleasant walk - from the historic town of Bakewell, home of the legendary Bakewell Pudding. The village is also home to the CAMRA award winning Lathkill Hotel, just 200 yards away from Manor Court, which is reputed to boast the finest views of any pub in England.
The village is centrally situated to enjoy all that the Peak District National Park has to offer. Excellent walking, fishing and horse riding can be enjoyed locally too. Lathkill Dale itself is a Nature Reserve, preserving wild flower meadows, craggy fossil filled rocks, ancient woods and the crystal clear river is abundant with wildlife, birds and butterflies.
Each cottage and barn has its own character and feel, setting modern finishes against the breathtaking period features.
The buildings, when set aside the courtyard’s lawns, historic stone features and flowers, form a peaceful and restful oasis.
Manor Court Cottages are very pet friendly.
